There are no casualties among the Armenian community in Jerusalem as a result of military actions by the Palestinian Hamas movement, and the situation in Jerusalem is calm. This information was provided to Armenpress by Hakob Sevan, a member of the Armenian National Committee of Jerusalem.

“At this moment, the situation in Jerusalem is calm. Clashes are primarily taking place in southern Israel, while Jerusalem is quite far from those centers. This morning, only sounds of explosions have been heard, there was an attempt to shell Jerusalem, but it was unsuccessful. The situation in Jerusalem is calm, and there are no casualties among the Armenian community,” Hakob Sevan stated.

It should be noted that today, October 7, the Palestinian Hamas movement launched the largest attack on Israel in recent years. They fired rockets from the Gaza Strip towards Israel. Hamas militants infiltrated Israeli territory using paragliders and pickup trucks.

A state of emergency has been declared in Israel, and mobilization has been announced.
