Long-Term Programs to Be Offered to Artsakh Residents in the Coming Days

In the coming days, Armenian authorities will meet with individuals forcibly displaced from Artsakh to understand their plans and objectives regarding permanent settlement and job opportunities in their new residences. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Tigran Khachatryan, during a briefing at the government office.

“The long-term programs we will propose will be significantly different from the short-term projects we are currently implementing. Therefore, in the coming days, we will meet with people to understand their plans and goals,” emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.

He also noted that many businesses in the Armenian private sector have already made a number of job offers to Artsakh residents with the appropriate professional qualifications. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, this is already a positive trend.

Tigran Khachatryan further informed that over 50,000 Artsakh residents currently have bank accounts and have received state financial assistance. He reminded that this support can only be accessed by all forcibly displaced individuals through bank transfers, which are cashless.

He added that the government is also developing programs to cover the tuition fees for Artsakh residents wishing to continue their education in relevant departments of Armenian universities, provided that the student is studying on a paid basis.

Additionally, the latest data from the Ministry of Health of Armenia was presented during the government briefing by the spokesperson for the Prime Minister, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, who reported that 293 patients forcibly displaced from Artsakh are continuing treatment in various healthcare facilities in Armenia, with 106 in serious condition and 11 in critical condition.

According to her, 14 percent of the displaced individuals have been registered at primary healthcare facilities.
