6.6 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan, Tsunami Warning Issued

A 6.6 magnitude earthquake has struck Japan, prompting a tsunami warning. The earthquake occurred in the southern part of the Izu archipelago during the first half of October 5. The epicenter of the tremor was located at a depth of 10 kilometers.

It is expected that the subsequent tsunami will generate waves of up to 1 meter in height. Meteorologists are warning that this is sufficient to knock a person down.

Authorities are urging residents to stay away from the shore, and those near the sea are advised to quickly move to higher ground.
