‘The man wrote that I suggested a nuclear strike on Russian territory’: Simonyan on defamation
RT television channel's chief editor Margarita Simonyan has announced that she has filed a defamation complaint against the former assistant of Moscow City Duma deputy Nikolai Korolev, who sent a complaint to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs following her words about a nuclear explosion in Siberia. She shared this on her Telegram channel.
“I have filed a complaint against some deputy's assistant who has filed a complaint against me. Under the ‘defamation’ article,” she said.
According to Simonyan, the man wrote that she “suggested a nuclear strike on the territory of the Russian Federation.”
“Of course, I did not and could not suggest such heresy,” she noted.
The chief editor of RT added that “other defamers should also be ready.”
