A Large Number of Forcefully Displaced Citizens Have Settled in Ararat Region: Gnel Sanosyan
The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, Gnel Sanosyan, conducted a consultation today at the Ararat regional administration with the participation of the regional governor, staff, and community leaders.
The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure reports that the meeting discussed the organization of providing shelter, food, and other essential supplies to citizens forcefully displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
Considering the fact that a significant number of forcefully displaced citizens have settled in the Ararat region, the minister has instructed community leaders to be more vigilant and attentive, conducting daily assessments of needs to ensure no one is left unattended.
The minister also emphasized the need to provide school-aged children with stationery as quickly as possible, enabling them to start attending school.
Taking into account the scarcity of hotel accommodations in the region and the fact that some displaced individuals have settled in communal spaces adapted for housing, the minister tasked with finding suitable residential houses for these families, ensuring they have adequate living conditions.
Given the workload, the minister suggested involving volunteers as necessary in the efforts.
Additionally, the minister instructed to regularly inform residents during meetings and interactions about government support programs, so that displaced compatriots remain informed and are not excluded from assistance initiatives.
Several other instructions were also issued during the consultation. Currently, 15,569 citizens have settled in the Ararat region.
