ICRC Aids Evacuation of 100 Sick and Elderly Individuals from Artsakh

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) staff have assisted in locating and evacuating over 100 elderly, sick, and disabled individuals from Artsakh since September 29. This information was shared on the ICRC Armenia office's X page.

"In recent days, as thousands have left their homes and arrived in Armenia, we have focused on finding and assisting the most vulnerable individuals left behind," the statement said.

The ICRC staff have gathered and verified information about these individuals, which has later allowed teams to locate them on-site and assist with their evacuation if they wished. "Since September 29, with our support, 100 vulnerable individuals have been successfully transported to the central square, from where the last available buses and ambulances have taken them to Armenia," the text stated.

It is worth mentioning that as of now, 100,625 displaced persons have arrived in Armenia from Artsakh, meaning nearly the entire population. According to UN mission data, 50-1,000 individuals may still remain in Nagorno-Karabakh.
