Azerbaijani Police Patrols Streets of Stepanakert, Says ICRC Representative
In the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh, Stepanakert, only a few hundred people remain, including patients, disabled individuals, and elderly residents.
According to a report by Reuters, Marco Succi, a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), stated this during a video conference on Tuesday, describing the deserted city as 'surrealistic.'
He joined a briefing organized in Geneva, mentioning that they are now using loudspeakers to locate isolated and abandoned individuals.
They found bed-ridden Suzanne, who suffers from cancer and was malnourished, despite her neighbors having left food for her. She was evacuated to Armenia by ambulance.
Marco Succi also noted that Azerbaijani police are patrolling the streets.
