Artsakh Armed Forces Hand Over Approximately 57.6 Million Ammunition to Russian Defense Ministry

The armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh have handed over approximately 57.6 million ammunition to the Russian peacekeepers. This was reported on Tuesday by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Specifically, 79 units of armored vehicles, 96 units of field artillery ammunition and mortars, 93 units of automotive equipment, 113 units of air defense technology, and more than 7,000 units of small arms were transferred.

On September 19, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense announced the start of "local anti-terrorist operations" in Nagorno-Karabakh, beginning artillery attacks on the civilian population. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated that the only path to peace in Nagorno-Karabakh is the complete withdrawal of Armenian military personnel from the area, which the Armenian side has denied.

The following day, it became known that the conflicting parties agreed to a complete cessation of military operations.

Later, on September 28, Armenian President Samvel Shahramanyan signed a decree stating that the unrecognized republic would cease to exist as of January 1.

On October 2, the administration of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that the disarmament process in Karabakh was coming to an end.
