Russian Defense Ministry on the Situation in Artsakh

The transfer of weapons and military equipment by armed formations in Nagorno-Karabakh continues under the control of Russian peacekeepers. This is stated in the daily report of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“The Russian peacekeeping force continues to fulfill its tasks in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. Continuous cooperation with Baku and Stepanakert is maintained to prevent bloodshed, ensure security, and uphold humanitarian law norms for the civilian population. One violation of the ceasefire regime was recorded in the Martakert region. As a result of the exchange of fire, one serviceman of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces was injured. The command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent is conducting an investigation into the incident in cooperation with the Azerbaijani side and representatives of Karabakh,” the report states.

“In accordance with the agreements reached on the cessation of hostilities, the armed formations in Karabakh continue to transfer weapons and military equipment under the control of Russian peacekeepers. As of September 23, 6 units of armored vehicles, more than 800 units of small arms, anti-tank means, and approximately 22,000 units of ammunition have been handed over.” The report also mentions that 810 civilians, including 436 children, remain in the areas where the Russian peacekeeping forces are stationed. Their accommodation, food, and medical assistance have been organized.
