Moldova Will No Longer Buy Gas from Gazprom
Julya
We will no longer purchase natural gas from Gazprom. This was stated by Moldova's Minister of Energy, Victor Parlicov, at the Euro-Atlantic Stability Forum.
He noted that Moldova has begun to acquire energy resources at lower prices from the European market.
According to Kommersant, Moldovan authorities have proposed to Gazprom to sign a settlement agreement, under which the Russian company and its entities would write off the debts of Moldovagaz. In exchange, Chisinau will guarantee the withdrawal of lawsuits related to the $160 million reduction in supplies and will also pay Gazprom $153.57 million in compensation.
