20 Children and 216 Elderly Left Unaccompanied After Forced Displacement from Artsakh Under ASH Ministry Care

The crisis center operating under the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia currently houses 20 children and 216 elderly individuals who were forcibly displaced from Artsakh and left without care or guardianship.

Zara Manucharyan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, informed an Armenpress correspondent that the number of elderly individuals in care facilities is constantly changing. “There are elderly individuals who are identified in communities, report to us, and we provide accommodation. There are also relatives who find their elderly family members through their connections, leading to family reunifications,” Manucharyan explained.

According to her, most of the children placed in the ministry's crisis center are from a care center in Stepanakert.
