Why the Process to Remove Pashinyan Did Not Succeed: Vazgen Manukyan
At today's rally of the National Committee, committee member Vazgen Manukyan stated that the process they had announced to remove Pashinyan did not succeed because they made mistakes. He said, 'I announced that we would paralyze the city for three days, then create cracks in the government system, and solve issues through the National Assembly. It didn't work; we made mistakes. The mistake was that we overestimated our human and organizational strength, but something very positive happened: many students, outraged by everything happening, came out only in words.'
'The committee cannot work like this with only five people; we want to expand it. Personally, I approached several very valuable people, inviting them to become members of the committee, but they haven’t responded yet,' Manukyan noted, not disclosing the names of those invited to the committee.
Vazgen Manukyan mentioned the intention to 'take the airport' so that Pashinyan would not be able to go to Spain for a five-sided meeting with the President of Azerbaijan in Granada. 'This is an inspiring idea at the moment, but I do not see that our people—who are still broken and housing the Artsakh people—are yet consolidated enough to do this; however, the whole city must buzz, we must show that we are against it.'
According to Manukyan, it is possible that no agreement will be signed that day, but in his opinion, other 'fundamental principles will ultimately be brought to some point.'
The National Committee member noted that two processes will be conducted in parallel: 'One is consolidation, which I will be pursuing with different political forces from tomorrow; however, protests must also continue from tomorrow, not just from the committee member parties.'
