The Matenadaran Administration Has Issued a Statement
The Matenadaran administration has issued a statement: “In the context of the universal tragedy and extreme humanitarian crisis regarding the mass displacement of the Armenian population from Artsakh, certain events are taking place that undermine the system of humanitarian values, human dignity, and moral norms. One such event is the illegal detention of philanthropist and public figure Ruben Vardanyan along with other Armenians by Azerbaijani security forces.
Taking into account Ruben Vardanyan's contribution to the preservation of cultural heritage and the promotion of ideas for preventing genocides, we call upon the relevant international organizations to take immediate measures to restore the rights of R. Vardanyan, as well as all Armenians who have been unlawfully detained and to grant them freedom.
P.S. For the eighth consecutive year, the Aurora Prize humanitarian initiative has been recording in Matenadaran a manuscript that summarizes the names of the Aurora Prize laureates who uphold humanitarian values through their lives and work. This manuscript is titled 'The Book of Humanitarians'…”
