Gnel Sanosyan: 'I Believe the Last Citizen Will Leave Artsakh Tonight or Tomorrow'
Another day and the flow of forcibly displaced people from Artsakh to Armenia will come to an end. This was stated by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, in an interview with Sputnik Armenia.
“I believe that by tonight or tomorrow, the last citizen will leave Artsakh. We will have to take care of the needs of people who have been relocated to various regions of Armenia, although work in this direction is already underway,” the minister noted.
According to him, the flow of displaced individuals is currently quite significant, but they are managing to serve them within a certain timeframe, resulting in a clearer number of people registered and relocated in the regions.
“The main positive thing is that we have tried to ensure that no citizen remains outside. The issue is that in some areas, individuals may wait in line for 2-3 hours until the situation is resolved. Moreover, many of the difficulties arise not so much from our side, but because our citizens are reluctant to go to the places we suggest and prefer to wait and go to other locations,” Sanosyan added.
In his interview with the media, he emphasized that he has instructed regional administrations to expedite all essential expenditures. The minister noted that although the Armenian government has sufficient resources and can meet all the needs, there are also benefactors and organizations that want to help.
He also addressed concerns regarding the complaints that the forcibly displaced individuals are mainly directed only to the regions. Gnel Sanosyan explained that there are almost no available places in hotels in Yerevan, which also pertains to rental homes, primarily occupied by those who have been relocated from Russia in recent months. For this reason, considering Yerevan's burden, the Armenian government has decided to reallocate people from Artsakh to the regions.
