“Ruben Vardanyan (former State Minister of Artsakh) and all those unjustly arrested must be released. The Biden administration must publicly tell Azerbaijan: either stop this now or face sanctions. Last week, Congressman Chris Smith and I introduced Resolution 5686, which imposes sanctions on Azerbaijan for its military crimes in Artsakh. It is the 21st century; the United States cannot turn a blind eye to ethnic cleansing,” Sherman wrote.
