No Political Force Has Challenged the Results of Yerevan City Council Elections, Says CEC Chairman

The deadline for contesting the results of the Yerevan City Council elections expired on September 27, and none of the 14 participating political forces have filed a complaint. This statement was made by the Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission, Vahagn Hovakimyan, during a CEC meeting.

Vahagn Hovakimyan expressed gratitude to the Central Electoral Commission and the entire electoral system for organizing free, fair, and transparent elections, considering the fact that the deadline for contesting the elections expired yesterday, on September 27. He noted that none of the 14 participating political forces challenged the election results in the Administrative Court.

“The elections were held in a competitive, vibrant, and tense environment, but the fact that none of the 14 participants have contested the election results itself demonstrates that the electoral system has fully fulfilled its obligations. Free, fair, transparent, and competitive elections have now become an established reality in our country. This is also recognized by the political forces that participated in the elections,” said Hovakimyan.

The Yerevan City Council elections were held on September 17, and out of the 14 participating political forces, 5 surpassed the electoral threshold. The forces that surpassed the threshold include the “Civil Contract” party, the “National Progress” party, the “Mother Armenia” alliance, the “Public Voice” party, and the “Republic” party.
