Many Artsakh Residents Are Already Spending the Night in Their Cars, Says Abrahamyan

The Armenian government has announced that it is preparing to address the accommodation and social issues of our fellow citizens from Artsakh who are subjected to ethnic cleansing. However, as many of us are experiencing firsthand, there is little serious work being done. This was stated by Armenian National Assembly member Tigran Abrahamyan.

"At least at this moment, the number of settlements offering housing to people is extremely limited, primarily focusing on border communities. In Yerevan or surrounding regions, there is currently no serious process for accommodating people. There are communities attempting to find local solutions, but this is quite challenging without the necessary support from the central government. Some are barely finding accommodation through friends, relatives, or simply caring individuals, but even that is fraught with difficulties. Many Artsakh residents are now spending the night in their cars because those trying to rent apartments either cannot find them or are unable to do so due to rapidly rising prices. This is the situation while only half of our fellow citizens from Artsakh have arrived in Armenia. The Armenian authorities are doing everything possible to ensure that some people, unable to find solutions, are forced to leave the country," the lawmaker wrote.

It is noteworthy that as of 08:00 today, a total of 65,036 individuals forcibly displaced from Artsakh have arrived in the Republic of Armenia.
