The Number of Russian Peacekeepers in Artsakh is Determined by the Local Situation: Lavrov

The number of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh is determined based on the local situation, as they contribute to establishing dialogue between Artsakh and Baku. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a press conference.

“Our peacekeepers are currently facilitating communication between representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijani officials. Our peacekeepers are present there because their role is crucial for building trust, so that the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, especially at the beginning, feel safe,” he said.

“How long it will take, how many peacekeepers will be needed, are questions that are determined on the ground,” the Russian Foreign Minister emphasized.
