Turkey's Foreign Minister on Azerbaijan's Military Aggression in Artsakh

Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has stated that Azerbaijan was compelled to carry out operations in Artsakh. He remarked, "Azerbaijan had to take action in Artsakh, which opened a new opportunity to normalize relations with Armenia."

Earlier today, during a meeting with the European Union's special representative for the South Caucasus, Toivo Klaar, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev claimed that more favorable conditions have been created for signing a peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan following the anti-terror operation in Artsakh.

On September 19, Azerbaijan launched a large-scale attack against the Republic of Artsakh. Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense stated that supposedly "civilian populations and civilian infrastructure objects are not targets; only 'military targets' are being taken out of action."

According to the latest reports, the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh has resulted in 200 fatalities (including 10 civilians, 5 of whom are children) and 400 injuries (including 40 civilians, 13 of whom are children). Artsakh Parliament member Nella Grigoryan reported today that there are preliminary estimates of over 300 missing persons and nearly 300 casualties in Artsakh.
