The Absolute Majority of the People Want to Leave Artsakh Rather Than Live Under Azerbaijani Control, Babayan

The absolute majority of the people in Artsakh, 99.9 percent, wish to leave Artsakh rather than remain under Azerbaijani control. This was stated by David Babayan, advisor to the President of Artsakh, in an interview with NEWS.am.

“The situation in Artsakh continues to be difficult. A few trucks have arrived, and we are now expecting the entry of new trucks. Of course, this will somewhat alleviate the social and living conditions, and if the electricity supply is restored, the situation will improve further, and then we will see about the rest,” he said.

He noted that the trucks arrived through the Lachin corridor, mostly bringing food, some fuel, and also medication. When asked whether Azerbaijan is keeping its commitments to the side of Artsakh, Babayan said it is still too early to discuss that, and we must wait.

Regarding the agreements, Babayan emphasized that, at this moment, an agreement has been reached to alleviate the living conditions in Artsakh. “Other issues, in my opinion, will be discussed in future meetings. Currently, the transportation of the deceased, the cases of missing persons, and the wounded are being addressed. Due to the lack of electricity, many villages really have no connection,” he added.
