Syunik Governor's Advisor on Receiving Artsakh Residents in Case of Evacuation

Syunik Governor's advisor Karen Balyan, addressing the provincial government's preparations regarding the potential influx of citizens from Nagorno-Karabakh, said in an interview with a reporter from News: "In case of potential displacement of our compatriots, an operational group has been established by the governor's order. It is a large operational group, which also includes volunteers, primarily students from Goris State University. There are also other volunteers. We are preparing to accept our compatriots in case of possible displacement.

Currently, we are at the first reception point, where we plan to accept our compatriots and then distribute them to temporary accommodation locations. On-site, we will understand our further actions. Overall, I would like to emphasize that we are, yes, ready to accept our compatriots in case of potential displacement, taking care of their needs - accommodation, food. In this regard, we are also inventorying, and mostly, we have cataloged the available places where we can provide lodging for our compatriots, as well as temporary accommodation places where lodging can also be secured.

These will be on a scale across the entire province." Regarding the cargo being transported to Nagorno-Karabakh, Karen Balyan remarked: "In terms of delivering humanitarian aid, I can only state that the humanitarian cargo that has been waiting to reach Nagorno-Karabakh since July 26 is still stalled, and nothing has changed in this regard. As for the Red Cross and other cargo vehicles, I do not have concrete information and cannot comment further." Addressing the developments regarding the flow from Nagorno-Karabakh, he stated the following: "Since we are not receiving good information from there, we cannot say at this moment what developments are possible, but in case of potential displacement, we are preparing to accept our compatriots. Currently, there is no specific information indicating that there is an evacuation occurring from there; at the moment, we do not have such information."
