Nearly 100 Bodies of the Deceased Found in Areas Cut Off from Stepanakert, Multiple Victims from One Family, Tatoyan

In Artsakh, nearly 100 bodies of the deceased have been found in areas cut off from Stepanakert (Martuni, Martakert, etc.). There are cases where multiple civilian victims are from the same family. This was reported by former Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan on his Facebook page.

“People are unable to take the bodies of the deceased for medical examinations so that they can properly bury them because Azerbaijani armed forces are isolating the areas from each other. There are instances where people are forced to conduct burials without medical examinations,” wrote Tatoyan. According to him, thousands of people are unable to find their relatives, not knowing whether they are alive, in captivity, or deceased.

“Azerbaijani armed forces have completely disrupted communication, making it extremely difficult to resolve any issues. Additionally, there is a lack of food, electricity, gas, and medicine, which further intensifies people's suffering. Finally, people are left without homes, forcibly displaced from their houses and historic communities. All of this is a deliberate Azerbaijani policy, rooted in anti-Armenian sentiment, ranging from torturing and killing people to inflicting such inhumane suffering,” the former Human Rights Defender wrote.
