Doctors Demand the Red Cross to Organize the Evacuation of Wounded from Artsakh
Healthcare workers held a protest near the office of the International Committee of the Red Cross, demanding to mediate and organize the evacuation of wounded individuals from Artsakh and the transfer of healthcare workers from Armenia to Artsakh. They carried English-language placards reading: "Healthcare workers want to go to Artsakh," "Everyone has the right to health," "Doctors are with Artsakh," and "Do your job."
One of the participants, doctor Arek Hovhannisyan, whose relatives are currently in Artsakh, stated, "We demand the immediate transfer of the wounded from Artsakh who are unable to receive adequate assistance to Armenia. In addition, there are healthcare workers who wish to go to Artsakh. The International Committee of the Red Cross, do not forget what your mission is; do not confuse neutrality with indifference and inaction. What has the ICRC done during these three days, what functions have you carried out? Why was the Red Cross created? One of the most important components of your humanitarian activities is providing humanitarian assistance. How is it that you can carry out the interests of a nation in other countries, but when it comes to Armenians living in Artsakh, you become an international organization and remember neutrality?"
