Six Azerbaijanis Killed: Armenians Blamed Again

Azerbaijani media reports that six Azerbaijanis have allegedly been killed by a landmine explosion in the Martuni region, which has come under Azerbaijani control.

Among the casualties, two were employees of the State Road Agency, reportedly blown up while carrying out contractual work on-site. According to media reports, police have also reached the incident area, and four of them have also stepped on a landmine.

The names of the deceased have been disclosed: Jamalzade Asim Prince oglu (born 02.05.1994), Shiriniov Ramil Arif oglu (born 08.07.1987), Mahmudov Seymur Elseviar oglu (born 07.12.1991), and Zamanov Khazar Azer oglu (born 21.07.1998).

The Attorney General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the State Security Service of Azerbaijan have issued a joint statement blaming the incident on “Armenian saboteurs.” However, it was previously reported that the Defense Army of Nagorno-Karabakh refuted Baku's claim that soldiers from the army had conducted a sabotage operation and laid an anti-tank mine on the 58th kilometer of the Ahmadbeyli-Fuzuli-Shushi highway, which supposedly resulted in the deaths of two civilians.
