Russian Embassy in Yerevan Sends Note to Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Russian Embassy in Armenia has sent a note to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs concerning the protesters who have surrounded the embassy building. This was announced by Alexander Guchkov, press secretary of the Russian diplomatic mission in Armenia.
It was noted that following calls circulating on the internet to hold a protest near the Russian embassy in Armenia, the diplomatic mission has been blocked within the building. Initially, the blockade was partial, but it has now become complete. The normal functioning of the embassy is currently impossible.
“We are in contact with the competent authorities of the Republic of Armenia. We have sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia to take measures to restore the normal functioning of the embassy in accordance with the obligations under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations,” said Guchkov.
It should be noted that the protest action near the embassy continues.
