Recently, souvenir 'banknotes' resembling the new generation banknotes issued by the Central Bank of Armenia have been uncovered in circulation across the Republic of Armenia. This information was reported by the Central Bank of Armenia.
“These souvenir 'banknotes' feature the inscription 'THIS NOTE IS NOT A LEGAL TENDER' in small print on the face and 'SOUVENIR MONEY OF ARMENIA' on the reverse side. The said souvenir 'banknotes' are not legal tender, and any attempt to use them for payment is punishable by law.
Moreover, these souvenir 'banknotes' are produced in violation of Armenian legislation.
