Major Fire in Ararat Province: Flames Visible from Hundreds of Meters Away

On September 18, employees of the 911 National Center for Crisis Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, along with firefighters from Yerevan and Ararat Province, proved that they are today's heroes through their swift operational response. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, a large fire broke out today at a gasoline station and a liquefied gas refill station in Ararat Province. If the operational group of the National Crisis Management Center and the firefighters had not responded quickly, the fire could have spread to more dangerous areas, potentially leading to a powerful explosion that would have impacted nearby homes and commercial establishments.

At the scene, citizens remarked on how the rescuers were combating the spreading flames, saying, 'Seeing the firefighters battling the tongues of fire and how quickly they arrived on the scene to prevent the fire from spreading, these guys can definitely be called today's heroes.' Thanks to their efforts, everything ended successfully.

As reported earlier by the photojournalist, an emergency situation occurred today, September 18, in Ararat Province. An explosion followed by a fire broke out at a gasoline station and a liquefied gas refill station located in the divider zone of the Yerevan-Artashat highway, near Aytnap and Kharberd. Numerous firefighting units were dispatched to the scene to combat the spreading fire, which was visible from hundreds of meters away. Two gasoline refilling points and one liquefied gas station were ablaze at the site. A food storage facility was located nearby while efforts were underway to prevent the spread of the fire. A group from the Firefighting and Rescue Service also arrived at the scene. The head of the service requested assistance for 10 water tanks, and one firefighting unit from station number 8 also arrived. Additionally, information was received from the police that one victim had been transported to the Artashat Medical Center from the filling station.
