EU to Provide 400 Million Euros in Aid to Turkey
The European Council has agreed to approve 454.8 million euros in assistance from the European Union (EU) Commission for Turkey, Italy, and Romania, reports Ermenihaber.
Approximately 400 million euros of this aid will be allocated to Turkey, specifically for those affected by the devastating earthquake that struck Kahramanmaraş (historically known as Maraş) on February 6. Additionally, 33.9 million euros will be directed to Romania, which faced damage from drought in 2022, and 20.9 million euros will be allocated to Italy, impacted by floods in 2022.
The financial assistance will be granted following final approval from the European Parliament and the EU Council.
