Why Did the Prosecutor's Bodyguards Enter the Polling Station?
At polling station 2/40 in the Nor-Nork administrative district, an outsider was present who turned out to be a bodyguard of the prosecutor. This was reported by the "Observer Witness" organization.
Representatives of the monitoring organization informed that an outsider had entered polling station 2/40, conversed with the chairman of the precinct electoral commission, and then they both entered the voting room, continuing their discussion about technical equipment.
In response to the observer's question about who this person was and whether he had the right to be in the voting room, the chairman of the precinct electoral commission stated that he was a bodyguard of the prosecutor and was inquiring about the voting process.
It should be noted that according to the Electoral Code, a bodyguard does not have the right to enter the polling station, engage in conversation, or conduct inquiries. At most, he can accompany his protected individual to the polling station.
ArmLur.am inquired with Luise Martirosyan, advisor to the Armenian Prosecutor General, about why Anna Vardapetyan's bodyguard entered the precinct electoral commission. In response, the prosecutor's office stated:
"The Prosecutor General of Armenia voted at polling station 2/40, and the staff of the state protection service exercised their powers as prescribed by law."
