Video: Non-Citizens of Armenia Can Vote if Registered for Last Year, CEC
The Secretary of the Central Electoral Commission, Armen Smbatyan, has announced that individuals who are not citizens of the Republic of Armenia also have the right to vote in local government elections if they have been registered in the respective community for the past year.
According to him, those who are not citizens of Armenia but have been registered for the last year are entitled to vote, and their residency card issued by the Republic of Armenia serves as a valid identification document for them.
Smbatyan emphasized that the registration fact is also important for Armenian citizens. “Citizens of the Republic of Armenia must be registered in the respective community for the last six months to be included in the voters' list and to be able to vote,” he noted.
