I have confirmed that Anna Hakobyan's name was on the voter list, the CEC secretary said

The Central Election Commission (CEC) situation center has received several reports, including one about a case where a voter was asked whom they had voted for after casting their ballot, Central Election Commission member Zhirayr Karapetyan informed during a press briefing.

Recalling that it is prohibited to question voters about whom they voted for, Karapetyan noted that such incidents could lead to criminal liability.

According to the CEC member, there was also a report concerning foreign voters registered in Yerevan who were unable to read or understand Armenian. Karapetyan stated that representatives of the Territorial Election Commission were instructed to read the content of the ballots to them, and they were suggested to remember the number of their preferred candidate and to vote accordingly.

According to the voter registry published on elections.am, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's wife, Anna Hakobyan, is registered at one of the polling stations in the Kentron district, however, she voted at polling station 8/16 with her husband, Nikol Pashinyan.

“Freedom” inquired with Karapetyan about how he would explain this choice. The CEC member replied that it was the first time he had received such information and that he would clarify after the press briefing why this had occurred and would present the findings to journalists.

Furthermore, the CEC secretary clarified, “I personally called the CEC president, who checked with the territorial electoral commission whether Anna Hakobyan's name was on the voter list, and they confirmed that it was indeed there.”

According to Smbatyan, the preliminary lists verified 40 days prior to the election are posted on elections.am, as there is no requirement to place a final list on the website for local self-government elections, hence changes that may have occurred in the past month or so might not be reflected in that list.

The CEC secretary mentioned that the final lists are posted on the walls of polling stations and are also available on police.am.

It was previously reported that Anna Hakobyan is registered at the government summer house but voted at polling station 8/16.
