Georgi Altunyan's House Arrest and 20 Million Dram Bail Ordered
The former head of the Public Relations and Media Department of the Ministry of Defense, Georgi Altunyan, has been placed under house arrest as a measure of restraint. Additionally, a bail of 20 million drams has also been issued against him. This information was reported by Sputnik Armenia.
Meanwhile, Suren Aloyan, the founder of Dasaran.am, has been released on bail for 1 million drams, his lawyer Levon Sahakyan told the media.
It is noteworthy that Altunyan and four others are charged with embezzling a significant amount of 106,300,000 AMD during the period from 2019 to 2021. He faces charges under Article 178, Part 3, Point 1, and Article 314, Part 1 of the previous Criminal Code. The Investigative Committee announced yesterday that Altunyan has been arrested.
