Armenian Human Rights Defender Discusses Video of Child Being Hit in Kindergarten
The video showing scenes of violence against children in a kindergarten in Yerevan is being investigated by the Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia. This information has been reported by the Office of the Human Rights Defender.
The Office has immediately contacted representatives of the National Police to take necessary actions regarding the incident.
"The best interests of the child and the protection of their rights are among the top priorities of the Human Rights Defender. The Defender emphasizes that the state has an obligation to take necessary and sufficient measures to ensure the child's protection from violence. In light of the best interests of the child, the Defender urges not to disseminate the video appearing on social networks, refraining from revealing personal data that may identify the child," the statement reads.
It is worth noting that on September 16, a video was published on the internet showing how kindergarten staff are committing acts of violence against the students. According to social media posts, the kindergarten in question is private, with a monthly fee of 90,000 Armenian drams.
