159 Voters Registered at Address Matching the New Nork Cemetery Area: 'Hayakve' Revelation

In the voter registration lists for the Yerevan municipal elections, 85 people were registered in the area of the Police Academy of the Republic of Armenia, 86 in the area of the Football Federation, and 159 at an address matching the New Nork Cemetery area. This was stated by Anna Kostanyan, a representative of the 'Hayakve' initiative, in an interview with Sputnik Armenia.

According to her, these data were collected using various methods, including calls to their hotline, information received through social media, and messages sent to the 'Hayakve' Facebook page, as well as recorded by the initiative's observers.

'Our observers went to polling stations, identified addresses, and noticed that a significant number of people were registered at those addresses. They visited those addresses and found that it was, for example, the territory of the Football Federation or an address matching that of the New Nork Cemetery,' Kostanyan stated.

She assured that the collected data is not aimless. 'Hayakve' is preparing to present this data with factual evidence to the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia after the election results are announced.

'We aim to address specific processes regarding all these cases. For example, we want to understand on what basis such a large number of registrations occur at that address, whether those people have the right to be registered there, and if those addresses are residential areas at all,' emphasized Anna Kostanyan.

The observers of 'Hayakve' not only inform the chairperson of the polling station commission about these violations but also ensure that reports are drawn up in the registration log regarding these violations.

'For example, we have a case where the chairperson of the commission took the registration log and did not allow the observer to make a note of the violation,' she said.

Anna Kostanyan also informed that the results of this monitoring mission will later be presented to the public as a report.
