Armenian Ministry of Defense Responds to Papikyan's Non-Visit to Yerablur

In contrast to certain individuals, the Minister of Defense does not visit the Yerablur military pantheon for personal publicity purposes. We apologize to the families of the fallen for unnecessary speculation.

From September 13-16, several Facebook users, political and public figures, including Armenian National Assembly member Gegham Manukyan, made posts that did not align with reality, claiming that the Minister of Defense did not visit the Yerablur military pantheon to honor the memory of soldiers who fell while defending the Republic of Armenia’s sovereign territory on September 13-14, 2022.

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia clarifies that the Minister did in fact visit the Yerablur military pantheon on the morning of September 13 at 08:10. The Minister paid tribute to the memory of the heroes who selflessly defended the Republic of Armenia's sovereign territory, sacrificing their lives from September 13-14, 2022.

The Minister laid a wreath and placed flowers at the commemorative wall honoring the feats of those who died for the freedom and independence of the homeland. The Ministry of Defense has published photographs and videos of the Minister's visit to the Yerablur military pantheon on September 13, 2023, and urges Facebook users, as well as political and public figures, to refrain from unnecessary and inappropriate speculations.

The Ministry of Defense also informed the authors of such posts via phone that the information regarding the Minister's non-visit to Yerablur is not true.
