The U.S. is Ready to 'Help' Yerevan, Dreaming of Creating a New Anti-Russian Platform in the South Caucasus: Slutsky

The United States is prepared to increase assistance to Armenia in order to create a new anti-Russian platform in the South Caucasus. This opinion was expressed by Leonid Slutsky, the Chairman of the State Duma's International Affairs Committee and leader of the LDPR party, via his Telegram channel.

“Currently, Washington is ready to ‘help’ Yerevan, obviously dreaming of establishing a new anti-Russian platform in the South Caucasus. However, all of its plans to weaken Russia are collapsing before our eyes. This is what you need to remember: transatlantic ‘patronage’ has not benefited any country in the world, bringing only troubles, sorrow, blood, and devastation. And this is ultimately what American-style ‘partnership’ and ‘development assistance’ lead to,” wrote Slutsky.

He pointed out that the West approached Kyiv in the same way. Now the results are visible: Ukraine has turned into a “puppet of the U.S.,” bankrupt with a devastated economy, external control, and lost sovereignty.

Earlier, Yuri Kim, the Acting Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, stated that the United States needs to increase comprehensive assistance to Armenia, including in the areas of defense partnership and security.

It is worth recalling that during a hearing in the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Yuri Kim remarked that it is still early to discuss whether Armenia is changing its relations with Russia, but Washington is striving for that.
