NASA Releases Report on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena
The US space agency, NASA, has released a report on the activities of an independent expert team that spent a year studying data on unidentified anomalous phenomena (what the agency refers to as UAPs - Unidentified Aerial Phenomena), ABC News reports. The report has been published on NASA's website.
“The main takeaway is that we still have a lot to learn. The independent research team found no evidence that the unidentified anomalous phenomena are extraterrestrial, but we don't know what they actually are,” said agency director Bill Nelson.
During a press conference, Nelson also announced the appointment of a new director for the program studying unidentified anomalous phenomena. NASA has not released the name of the new director in order to protect them from potential harassment, as other team members have faced trolling and even threats during their work.
According to NASA's press release, the new director's responsibilities will include coordinating activities across various agencies and departments in the field of research on unidentified anomalous phenomena, as well as integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning to search for anomalies in the sky.
