Azerbaijan Accumulates Special Forces Units 'Yashma' and 'Commando' on Armenia and Artsakh Border, Tatoyan
Our studies show that the Azerbaijani authorities are also accumulating special forces units ('Yashma' and 'Commando') at the border with Armenia and Artsakh. This follows the same pattern as before September 27, 2020. This was stated by the former Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, on his Facebook page.
“These units have been notorious for their extreme brutality during the April 2016 four-day war, the 44-day war of 2020, and the Azerbaijani aggression unleashed on September 13-14, 2022 (tortures, dismemberment, etc.). Regardless of everything, these armed units are perpetrators of war crimes, and none of them has been punished; they are protected by the highest authorities of Azerbaijan. We are making a more solid documentary record of Azerbaijani crimes, their intentions, and justifications regarding state policy,” he wrote.
