Alexander Neradko, Head of Rosaviatsia, to be Dismissed
In the coming days, Alexander Neradko, the head of the Federal Agency for Air Transport of Russia (Rosaviatsia), will be relieved of his duties. This information has been reported by one of the airlines to Izvestia and confirmed by two high-ranking sources within the Ministry of Transport. According to the publication, the decision has been made at the government level.
One of the media's interlocutors stated that the resignation could occur on Friday, September 15.
Potential candidates to replace Neradko include his deputy Vladimir Poteshkin and the current head of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC), Oleg Storchov, who was formerly the deputy head of the Federal Agency for Air Transport. Other candidates may also be considered.
Alexander Neradko has been leading the Federal Agency for Air Transport since 2009. As reported by Izvestia, last May, Neradko received a reprimand from the government for inadequately fulfilling his official duties. A source close to the Ministry of Transport indicated that the reprimand was due to his failure to properly execute the directives of Minister Vitaly Savelyev and the cabinet of ministers.
