Washington Must Ensure Talks Focus on U.S. Partnership, Not Russia, Says Assistant Secretary
It is still too early to judge whether Armenia is changing its attitude towards Russia, but the U.S. is striving for that. This was stated by Yuri Kim, the acting Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, during hearings on the Artsakh issue, according to TASS.
Washington must transform U.S.-Armenia relations into a partnership that focuses on the U.S. rather than Russia. “We need to expand the scope of assistance provided to Armenia, whether it be development aid, defense partnership, or security collaboration,” he said.
