State Duma Proposes Stricter Gun Sale Rules for Migrants
The leader of the "Fair Russia - For Truth" party, Sergey Mironov, has proposed to tighten the regulations surrounding the circulation of firearms, particularly for migrants, aimed at increasing security levels, reports RBC.
Mironov plans to submit a corresponding bill to the State Duma, and the Human Rights Council is ready to support the initiative.
"Given the new threats and challenges that have emerged regarding the security of the state and its citizens in the Russian Federation, it is proposed to create additional protective mechanisms within the framework of the regime for the circulation of firearms," the statement clarifies.
The proposal also concerns citizens who have obtained Russian citizenship through a simplified process. This period will allow for a more effective assessment of the stable legal connection between the state and the migrant.
