Papikyan Presents Information on Azerbaijani Armed Forces Movements Along Borders to Russian Military
On September 14, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan received the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Ground Forces, Army General Oleg Salyukov, and the newly appointed Commander of the Russian Peacekeeping Forces in Nagorno-Karabakh, Major General Kirill Kulakova. This was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Defense.
Minister Papikyan welcomed Major General Kulakova on the occasion of his new appointment and wished him success in his peacekeeping mission.
During the meeting, the operational situation prevailing along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and in Nagorno-Karabakh, where the peacekeeping contingent is responsible, was discussed, along with existing issues and various matters aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the Russian peacekeeping mission in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Minister Papikyan emphasized the necessity of the unwavering implementation of all points of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020, and highlighted the importance of efforts aimed at the prompt unblocking of the Lachin corridor.
The Defense Minister presented data on the movements and accumulations of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces along the borders, their frequent provocations, gunfire directed at Armenian positions, and the recurring dissemination of misinformation.
