Investigative Committee Provides Details on Soldier's Death

On September 12, the relevant department of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia reported that on the same day, around 19:50, a soldier from military unit N was found dead in a trench near a firing position located in the north-eastern border zone of the military unit. The deceased soldier, Private Aleks Sureni Avanesyan, sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Next to him, a rifle cartridge was discovered.

According to preliminary data, the incident appears to be a suicide using the weapon assigned to him. An investigation has been initiated by the 6th military investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia under the first part of Article 522 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.

The inquiry is currently underway to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding the soldier's death and to provide a definitive legal assessment of the incident.

It is worth noting that Aleks Avanesyan, who died from a gunshot wound, was from Getamej village and was the only child in his family. Previously, it was reported that soldier Aleks Sureni Avanesyan died from a gunshot wound.
