Israel Bombs Russian Air Base in Syria: Casualties Reported
Israel has bombed a Russian air base in Syria, as reported by the Syrian state news agency Ortas.
It has been noted that two Syrian soldiers were killed and six were injured as a result of the Israeli airstrike on the Mediterranean port city of Tartus, where the Russian naval base is located.
The strike targeted anti-aircraft defense positions. Later, the Syrian army reported that Israeli missiles hit the suburbs of Hama, causing only some material damage.
Reuters, citing a source from the Syrian opposition, reports that the latest strike targeted a military base south of Hama and the Al-Shayrat military airport in the southwestern Homs province.
