What Principles Will Govern the Distribution of the Russian Aid Packages? Stepanakert Has Yet to Clarify
The Ministry of Social Development and Migration of Artsakh has yet to announce the principles that will govern the distribution of the 1,000 food, 200 hygiene, and 270 bedding packages that were delivered yesterday to Stepanakert by Russian trucks via the Aghdam road. This information was reported by "Azatutyun," which has been informed by the ministry: “We will announce this in the near future.”
The media outlet writes: “Standing on the brink of humanitarian disaster in Artsakh, Narine Danielyan, a mother of many children including one with disabilities, says that they are not happy with this situation. On the other hand, she adds that they have no means to support their little ones. Narine is anxious about how the distribution of the 1,000 packages will be managed among 120,000 people. According to official data, there are 30,000 children growing up in Artsakh.”
“I think it’s always like this for those who have disabilities, large families, and families of the fallen, but only 1,000 packages are available. As per this situation, those 1,000 packages must support 1,000 people, but that number grows. There are at least 300 children with disabilities. They brought blankets, bedding, things like that, and I wonder why they brought those instead of food when people have no means. Blankets when there’s hunger? There’s no flour, and we don’t know how we will get bread tomorrow,” Narine Danielyan said.
The package, which weighs 11 kilograms and 400 grams, includes cereals, pasta, canned meat, sugar, flour, and sunflower oil. Alexey Pikule, a representative of the Russian Red Cross, announced this on Artsakh television, explaining that the assistance will reach those in need regardless of their nationality, ethnic background, or political views.
