Ursula von der Leyen Praises Ukraine's Path to the EU as a 'Great Success'

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has announced that Ukraine has made significant progress towards joining the European Union. She made this statement during a speech at the European Parliament.

“We see how much progress Ukraine has made since being granted candidate status,” said Ursula von der Leyen. She noted that the path to EU membership is not easy. It is also based on merits and requires hard work and leadership. The Commission will always defend this principle.

Ursula von der Leyen is confident that Ukraine's future lies within the EU, which will be able to operate with over 30 states. According to her, it is time to acknowledge Ukraine's determination.

Additionally, she added that the Commission has proposed to provide an additional 50 billion euros over the next four years for investments and reforms in Ukraine, which will help restore a 'modern and prosperous country.'
