Russia to Take Measures in Response to Vitaly Denisov's Expulsion, Says Foreign Ministry
The Russian Foreign Ministry has stated that there will definitely be response measures from Russia regarding the expulsion of Vitaly Denisov, the head of Sputnik Moldova. This announcement was made by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Ministry.
“We demand an appropriate assessment from relevant international organizations regarding the actions of the Moldovan authorities. As for our response steps, they will definitely follow,” Zakharova’s statement published on the ministry’s website reads.
According to her, the Moldovan authorities’ approach in suppressing any manifestation of dissent and uprooting undesirable sources of information is becoming increasingly grotesque.
Earlier, Denisov had reported to RIA Novosti that he was being expelled from Moldova. He clarified that staff from the migration service arrived at his home in Chisinau, placed him in a vehicle, and took him to the airport under an expulsion order. Denisov stated that the Moldovan authorities consider him a threat to national security.
It is noted that the temporary envoy of Moldova to Russia has been summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with Denisov's expulsion.
