Driver of Mercedes with Fake Russian License Plates Flees, Discarding Gun
Today, on September 13, the Police Patrol Service of the Republic of Armenia received operational reports regarding a Mercedes vehicle traveling with fake Russian license plates. According to Shamshyan.com, the vehicle was placed under surveillance under the direction of the commander of the battalion, Arman Gasparyan, and the commander of the first platoon, Arsen Stepanyan. While heading along Sayat-Nova Avenue towards Charents Street, patrol officers Khachik Hovhannisyan and Levon Baghdasaryan spotted the Mercedes and ordered the driver to stop.
The driver halted, exited the vehicle, and attempted to flee. However, Hovhannisyan and Baghdasaryan chased him down and apprehended him. During the pursuit, he discarded an item that did not escape the officers' notice, especially given the lack of external lighting on the street.
It turned out that the discarded item was a Makarov-type pistol, complete with its case, and the license plates of the Mercedes were falsified. It was noted that a criminal case has been initiated in the investigative department regarding the incident.
