New Type of Special Demand License Plates to Be Introduced

The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, presented a draft law to the National Assembly regarding amendments and additions to the "Law on Ensuring Road Traffic Safety." The bill proposes to expand the series of vehicle license plates to include new types of special demand license plates.

The draft was approved in its second reading during today’s session of the National Assembly.

The process for granting license plates will be carried out exclusively through electronic auctions. The proposal also aims to regulate all details related to the electronic auction, eliminating human intervention in the process.

There are existing subordinate legislative acts that stem from this law, and it is planned that these will be developed and adopted within a three-month period.
