Negotiations Between Russia and Azerbaijan Underway to Reopen the Lachin Corridor Soon, Abrahamyan Says

Negotiations are underway between Artsakh and Russia, as well as between Russia and Azerbaijan, to reopen the Lachin Corridor as soon as possible. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, the secretary of the "Honorary Have" faction, during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly, conveying the information he possesses.

Abrahamyan emphasized that although a Russian Red Cross truck managed to enter Artsakh through the Aknak-Stepanakert route, the main supply route for Artsakh should be the Lachin Corridor. He stated, "If Azerbaijan does not implement these steps in a short time, it will make the Artsakh side's claims much more convincing that Azerbaijan is taking a destructive position in the current situation, and that Azerbaijan is the aggressor, trying to use any situation to make the use of force a decisive factor."

Addressing the information circulating on the internet that Russian Red Cross trucks were only transporting blankets, he noted that this does not correspond to reality. Abrahamyan also reminded that the Azerbaijani side had long insisted that it should be Azerbaijani Red Crescent vehicles, rather than Russian ones, entering through the Aknak-Stepanakert road, but such claims have, in fact, been prevented at this stage.

"The Artsakh Information Headquarters, which released the information, emphasized that this occurred within the framework of a well-known initiative by Russia. There has been information about this for several days, and this suggests that the reopening of the Lachin Corridor is expected shortly," he added.
